It seems I have less to update about. Or the things I update about are not for all eyes to be seen. *winks* Now that's why there is a friendslits on this journal thingy.
The weekend was good. Dutch Elfwood meeting was fun, bought good cloth, saw big badass bummer blah movie (9 and 1/2 weeks), and went home on Monday.
By the highway, the albums of various people can be viewed here [everybody makes a drawing in someone else's Dummy. Dutch comments, but the site should be browsable ;-)].

Last night I cleaned (read: tidied) my room and ate zuurkool met spek, yummmylekker.
Now I'm back in school. I intend to go to class, too. And tonight Marry will come over and I'll cook Pilaf for her and me.
Tomorrow bandpractice.
Thursdaynight go to NoKey's with all my larpbags.
Fridayafternoon go with the Coos (NoKey and Voltar) to Shadowrifts.
And Fridayevening to Sundayafternoon LARP. Oh yeah.

Ette so butch. Have goosebumps.
Might be Tour though. Never could tell.

*big fat wink*

In any case, I'm going for a sandwich in a few minutes, I think. I'm quite hungry.

Sorry. But I like Ette. And Ette likes everyone. Except maybe Tour.

Which LARP are you attending? I have been reading - slowly because they are interesting - your 'memories' of events and it sounds much more involved (and fun) than just the monstering I have done.

Closest I got to a character was when I taunted a player into single combat and he asked me my name - I can't even remember the gobbledegook I came up with but I thought it sounded suitably Firvolg (Firbold?? Something like that! So shoot me I'm new) before he slaughtered me. Took him a while though and his friends riduculed him for it hee hee. *shit eating grin*

Playing nameless monsters and being slaughtered by famous heroes can be fun. If you also get to do other things.
But if it's the only thing you can do, then I guess it is just boring and stupid.
If you never get to be anything else than canon flodder, you may have been attending to the wrong LARPs.
I think that most groups in the Netherlands would allow you a little more fun than just being slaughtered while wearing an orc mask. I don't know about english groups.

If I had attended more than one event I am sure they would let me have a little bit more involvement :o) As it is I am still learning the rules but have a slight advantage in that I have played quite a bit of table top role-play (D&D, Shadowrun, Call of Cthulhu etc).
It was fun and wetted my appetite to become involved beyond helping them build their roundhouse! Next Dummnoni is November and I am looking forward to it.
Are their a lot of groups in the Netherlands?

There are a lot of groups in the Netherlands. There are also a lot of LARPS. I can't possibly visit them all, because of the expenses and lack of time.
Sadly so.

I'm going to Shadowrifts, part II. The last real 'full weekend' larp I attended was Shadowrifts I, but my character Styx (http://www26.brinkster.com/janestar/Larp/Styx.htm) is pretty dormant. To wake her up, I took the livejournal entry (http://www.livejournal.com/users/janestarz/260744.html) I have from that event, and transformed it into a 15-pages long epos from her point of view, like she's telling it.

That took a lot of time and energy, but now Styx is more awake, and I'm feeling more ready for the next event.

As a monster you too can have a lot of fun, but the characters are less deep most of the time, the consequences of your actions hardly involve you at all since you are another character every hour or so. But I think that monstering can be a lot of fun too.
Especially since having real Player Characters costs a lot of time and energy to really become, work, explore the person it is.
