Good.
Since I won't have anything useful to do until 14.30 I might as well do SOMETHING, right?

So, let the question hour begin. Ask me any question about me you've always wanted to know the answer to and I'll answer.

It's not like I can chat or have anything better to do...

5 questions

1. You win a million in a gameshow, but you can't keep it for yourself. You have to give to away to someone. (and not to someone you live with) who do you give the money to?
2. You win 1000 euro in a gameshow, and you have to buy something for it. You cannot save the money for later, or pay your bills with it. You have to buy something. What do you buy?
3. You can have a date with a famous person of your choice. Artist, musician, politician, actor, philosopher, you name it. Who do you date, where do you go, and what will you do there?
4. You can have a house and a job in any country you want, but you are not allowed to ever return to the Netherlands. Which country do you go to?
5. What time did you get up this morning?

1. You win a million in a gameshow, but you can't keep it for yourself. You have to give to away to someone. (and not to someone you live with) who do you give the money to?
First of all, I wouldn't give the money to any of my housemates, because I just don't think they deserve it. And if the money HAS to go to just one person, I'd go for my mother. Tell her to start her dreamcompany, café or massageparlour with it in Hattem. I know she'll put it to good use, and be graciously grateful.

2. You win 1000 euro in a gameshow, and you have to buy something for it. You cannot save the money for later, or pay your bills with it. You have to buy something. What do you buy?
I would buy an acoustic guitar, and with the remaining money buy a corset, a chainmail, and a good bike (tall enough for me). If I still have some money left, I would buy more larpstuff.

3. You can have a date with a famous person of your choice. Artist, musician, politician, actor, philosopher, you name it. Who do you date, where do you go, and what will you do there?
To be perfectly honest, I don't know many Dutch celebs I would actually want to go out with. But on my international list, there are several people, ranging from Meryl Streep to Orlando Bloom and from Sir Sean Connery to Sandra Bullock.
This is really a tough choice. But in the end I think I'd go out with Courtney Love, to talk with her about her views on life and feminism. We'd first have dinner at a nice casual restaurant, a pizzeria for all I care, somewhere in the USA (why do it in Holland if you can choose America after all). When the restaurant closes and we're still in the mood for some fun, maybe we'd go to a club and hang out, and not behave ourselves.

4. You can have a house and a job in any country you want, but you are not allowed to ever return to the Netherlands. Which country do you go to?
Never return? That's kind of harsh. I'm not so well-travelled that I know exactly where I'd want to live. I think that I'd pick Germany, and get myself a nice house near the Schwarzwald. It's got the homely sense of forest and small lakes. But if that's too close to Holland and it would be agonizing, I'd pick New Zealand.

5. What time did you get up this morning?
I was awake at 4.57, visited the bathroom and started reading. Tried to sleep again, but failed, read some more, and got out of bed at 7.07 this morning.

Giving the money you win to your mother is not a bad idea.
That way, you have a chance that some of the money comes back to you when you inherit. (I hope that is sometime in the very far future)

I would give the money to Martin, and I would expect him to do some fun things with it in which my family can join in. We once went on vacation together, and it was great fun.
I would also expect him to buy a house near to us, so we could visit each other more often.
But I never win any money, because I never participate in any gameshows, and I don't buy tickets for loteries either. So the chances of this dream come true are very small.

I wouldn't give it to my mom so maybe one day I might inherit it. I would give it to her to make her happy. I doubt she could be much happier, she's got a wonderful loving boyfriend and three adoring cats. Only her job could be better.

Sorry, that was a bit of a sinister remark. It wasn't meant to be taken seriously.
And like I said, I hope it will be a long time before you inherit.

I know *smile*. Just wanted to clarify my intentions a bit.
Giving the money to Martin sounds like a plan as well. ;-)

question: what is the one thing you want to people to know about you but they never ask? being in this interviewing world, i sometimes wonder what would be the perfect question for some people, some things they've thought about long enough, but never get to tell because the subject never occurs in normal conversations. not like pressing matters, but more like theories and things about life.

so ... is there a question we should ask you?

oh, and if you feel like it, ask it yourself and answer it right away :)

Good one.

That's a good one.

The question would be "What's behind the mask, Janie?"

I think that deep down I try to keep people away from me, at a distance, because of some mask or other. And most people just accept that mask as the real me, because they just don't see, or because the mask scares them (most of the people at school see my monster-mask, see previous post). I wear a different mask around different people, though lately that's been getting less obvious, the masks more like subtle, smoother.

And now that I found someone I can't lie to, I feel like a purer form of me, like I don't have to pretend anymore. And that feels wonderful.

Is the mask something that you could put off (like you could with a real mask) or is it part of you?

Here's another question, very much related to this:
You once wrote (don't remember just where you wrote that) that you find it hard to accept what you are. What are you then?

Apparantly, yes I can take off the mask at will, though it hasn't always been that way. I am Myself around NoKey for instance. I think I am myself around most Larpers. They, after all, accept who I am.
I also am very much myself around my mother and Luc. But I am a lesser pure form of me around my dad. He doesn't want to hear the bad news. Or the larpstuff.
I won't continue this list of who I am not myself around, it may be offensive to some.

Here's another question, very much related to this:

You know, in the last year, year and a half, I've grown more accustomed to myself. I am happier with the person I am, partly also because other people accept me for who I am (provided I am Myself around them).
Pretty vague shit, this is, right?
Anyway, I am what I am. We all are who we are. We just don't always show it.

Right now, besides the corporal discomforts, I am content. Which is more than enough for me.

oh boy. that sounds so familiar. i recognize even the school mask. i like it that they think i'm evil. shocking to make them awake has a sort of 'do-good-feeling' ... i feel good for forcing them to be around people outside of their safe little world. though i know i can't force the willingly blind to see.

We sure can't force the willingly blind to see.
But my main problem with these (if you'll excuse my French) sheep, is that they will NOT accept me for who I am.
Which makes me more eager to confront them with an exaggerated form of what I am. The demonically mad beast that is ready to jump their throats. *maniacal laughter*

I personally get very confused by the masks that people wear.
Usually I don't notice when someone wears a mask, and I think for me it is a blessing in disguise because on the few occasions that I DO notice it I get very depressed.
I think that I have never really worn much of a mask (except of course when playing a different persona such as in LARP - but that's more of a game).
I didn't notice your mask the few times I've seen you.

First time I saw you that must have been at Moonblade in May or September last year, right?
And then again at the Florin at a larp meet-up.

All quite pure situations. *grins*

Paysdoc's question

From: [identity profile] paysdoc.livejournal.com
Let's talk about Shiverz!
My question is: how long do you expect to survive, seeing that you are in the good party and I am in the evil party? ;)
Choose an answer:
* About 5 minutes
* You're right, that's way too optimistic - uhm - 30 sec's?
* The whole event - I'm defecting!
* Er... I think I'll rather not pitch up

He just heard that if you win the lottery, he gets the prize.
That would make me optimistic as well.

Indeed!
But all those quid-pro-quo's are rather daunting!

What if I don't FIND a house near Coen?
What if he decides to move to India? Do I have to follow him?

Truth be told, though you are in the evil party and you are supposed to play evil person, I think Anna is going to survive Shiverz again.

If not, I'll be so upset and under control of my post-charachter syndrome my new character will be mad beyond belief and of evil alignment as well. All I need is to make her a costume. *grins*

Dear Jane :)

I browsed to your journal through [livejournal.com profile] bammerangcreep's and have to admit that you seem like an amazingly and extraordinarily interesting person. Hence, I would like to ask you whether you would mind me adding you to my friends-list so I may follow your antics easily on a daily base :)

Well, that's all for my question for now.

Cheers,
