To do list today

* groceries: milk, bread, veggies. It's all I seem to be getting lately.
* salt and marinate chicken for food tonight.
* finish cotton skaileather thing. I've given up on the drow dress since this sewing machine despises the plasticlike skai and was inspired to make a ripoff of that gorgeous corset of Diablo, the 700 euro corset.
* check bag if I packed everything. Treasuremap, rum, peg leg, costume, schmink.
* welcome Malor.
* perform at Arnhems Openlucht Museum as pirate. Whee!

In other news, woke up with rain on the window above me, and I worried about saturday, when I have to cycle to Lunteren. But then again, it's now nice and cool.

I want to know more about the pegleg prop. How does one pull it off with two legs?

Good question. I'll try to explain.
I went to the Magma to get a piece of rainpipe (regenpijp). Instead, I found some very good dakgoot. I let some guy saw it into pieces of 60 centimeters (length of my leg + foot). These, I sprayed brown.
But, since two pieces of dakgoot together weren't as thick as my leg (thus leaving a bit of leg to be seen on either side), I decided to make a sort of sock from brown skaileather to go over it. With some padding on my foot and around my knee, then the two pieces of goot, and then the leather sock, strapped by elastics, makes a nice peg leg. It's hard material, if you put your foot down hard enough it makes a nice sound unlike normal feet (thus: a pegleg sound, because what else could it be), you can knock on it, and because you tiptoe on one foot, you look like you have a limb.

Next week, I'll get Malor or Maglok to shoot a few pictures of me, and make a video of me hobbling around :).
