Bought new shoes. Army boots. They're very expensive but will outlive me, if I'm lucky. They were 99 euro and I had 60 so I owe my stepmom 39 euro's. Buh.

Then I walked from the subway to my dad's place while wearing them. It'll save me the effort of bringing them to Formanterra because I'll never get used to them before that. They hurt my feet mommy! Buh.

And seeing my oh so loving dad again was fun. He's all parental "How did the exams go" and "You must have the results back by now..."
Yeah I do, didn't make it this time dad.
"Well maybe you should try harder."

I wonder if I should tell him about my doubts about college, whether I should drop out and get a job so I can pay for a nice house etc. but I know it would break the thin glass that is enveloping our relation right now. He'll get all "But you have to finish" and "You'll be nothing without that" on me. I really am not in the mood for another one of those conversations. I am so glad I made it through highschool. No crappy conversation can ever take that away from me. Buh.

Talks like those can really get me down. But I had some tea with Mr. Finn in R'dam Alex and we spoke characters and so on. It's been fun. My mind wasn't really into it. I guess I'm too stressed for this weekend.

I illegally

Dad: "what are you doing Jane"
me: "I'm just typing some text"
Dad: "Well that's really nice"(indicating 'who don't you come sit over here and have a talk about whatever' grrr)

I illegally installed Msn here but I guess I'll have to uninstall it in a sec. He don't want me to chat. Buhbuh buh.

ouch

If your new boots are leather(are they kistjes?), you can get them wet and walk around in them till they're dry. This'll break them in faster. Wear extra socks, and bring plasters just in case. After that, they'll be perfectly molded to your feeties. Hetselde ding als voetjes, alleen in engels, feeties.

yep kistjes

Indeed ouch. I wore them yesterday for about an hour or so (excluding the sitting down with them) and I've major blisters. I was planning to wear them to school today but once I had them on and stood up I realised I wouldn't be able to walk with them.

The guy from the shop (you just gotta love the Dump) said if I'd wet them they would break sooner. It's not good for the leather. I guess I'll just pottytrain them the old-fashioned way. I've already come to terms with the fact I won't be able to wear them this weekend.

Hey, if they're brand new, the leather won't be hurt, it should still be well-conditioned. It's mostly the seams you have to worry about, and again, not when they're new. Remember, they find leather stuff in decent condition in archaeological sites all the time, so leather is pretty tough...

Okay
Thanks, I'll try that as soon as I can bear wearing them again. *grin*

99 euro for army boots? I thought army boots were fairly cheap, since they mass produce them. Maybe that is just in the States. Here you can go to an Army surplus store and probably get them for $30 or so. And if you do not mind used, less than that.

But the ticket to the States would be so expensive that all of that profit would be gone!

Like [livejournal.com profile] silverseabear said, the shoes model after your feet. So if I were to buy used ones (at the market) it could be bad for my feet and even posture. ( Worst case scenario. )

Well, yeah, of course. I just figured that they would not be quite so expensive.

And that could explain why my dad's boot hurt my feet so much - they are just a little too small, and cut in on them in some places. After a long day of LARPing... it hurts a bit.

Speaking of LARP, I'll be at it again tonight and all this weekend. *Evil grin*
