Big bad drums and fat music
Feb. 21st, 2003 12:18 pmLast night was soooo good. First TC and I traveled to Grins, where we found
ozjish at the station. It was 8 pm, he was eating junkfood and grinning at our arrival. We went to his house and hung out, then called a cab to go to the Vera.
Once inside we enjoyed good music. El Shit played, and after that Agresion. Both bands were really good and we bopped our heads to loud bassguitars. Ofcourse I talked to the singer of Agresion and shamelessly promoted our band and Riotgrrl and Ladyfest. *naughty grin* I was networking!
The crowd was different from what I was used to but they were all really nice and very polite, unless you wandered into the pit ofcourse. I thought I saw someone I knew, Dimmu Borgir Shirt, blonde hair and one white contact. I guess I saw him at Lowlands this summer.
Vera is a great venue and I'd love to play there with The Tommies! That would be so cool. The downstairs bar is cool, low ceiling...Tommy and I bought a t-shirt of Vera. I guess all I was thinking that night was "Our Time Will Come". You'll see, our time will come. One day, when we're all grown up, we will be on that stage etc etc yadda yadda yadda.
Hilarious moment, I was wearing my t-shirt from the band "Slut" (so guess what the tee says) and this guy asks me "is that true?"
I: "What? No, no, really I'm very innocent."
Guy: "Are you"
Then we started joking a bit, you know "Whips, Cuffs, Candles" I think my exact words were with a small remark about his piercings. Then he asks me the most embarrassing thing.
"What did you say your name was again?"
"I didn't give you my name"
"Oh. What's your name"
"Jane."
Turns out his name was Gabriel, and we were going. So I told him to take care of his wings (I had two beers, it's a miracle I could still walk) and we went.
There were a lot of nice people there, and the atmosphere was "gemoedelijk" [relaxed and nice].
Traintrip back was killer. Three hours.
Our time will come. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
