Work was tiring. I had the worst alley from the block and had to squeeze my way past table 17 every time I wanted to serve 13 and 14 since 17 and 16 were connected. Blah. Did receive 8 euro tip plus some change from my tables and we were done quite early for such a busy night. Late break, early done. I guess many couples had some more valentine’s day business to attend to. *Grin*
Afterwards we barbecued again. I’m very satisfied with some bread and garlicbutter but hey, if you’re serving pork... Had the best karbonades EVER.

I’m in a strange part of my life now. I wake up before my alarm clock wakes me up, I can’t go to sleep before eleven pm and I haven’t even caught as much as a cold this winter. I must be healthiest person ever! *Touchwood*

My father called yesterday afternoon. Said he was somewhere near Arnhem and asked how fast I could be at home. So I said “euhm, ten minutes” [actually in less but I needed to change before work and I’m not going to do that when my father is sitting on the couch.] I wonder what these surprise visits mean. He was all paternal on me and only wanted some water and to see me. Thank goodness the house was still a bit cleaned up from [livejournal.com profile] randallsilvers visit last weekend and TC’s mom coming over Thursday. He wanted to know the usual ‘howsschoolhowareyoudoingdidyoupassanyexams?’ and almost didn’t comment at all on how I looked.

Today there’s an anti-war demonstration in Amsterdam (almost typo’d Iraq there) and I really want to go. But since demonstrations always kindof get out of hand and I have to be home by four and I was supposed to meet up with Mr. Finn I won’t go. TC will, and she’ll demonstrate for us both. Hehe. I actually have an opinion on this. A lot of my fellow-students agree with me but only Erik and perhaps Gineke from my work do there. Marianne and Timo were all for a war with Iraq, they did have a good argument “if Bush doesn’t attack Iraq what will Saddam do? Who knows what kind of weapons he has and what he’s going to do with them.” To that point I do agree, because who really knows? But on the other hand I do not think that a war is the answer. How can you ever achieve world peace by war? I think America is too quick to jump to arms and start shooting. They are a great power in this world (wereldmacht) but that doesn’t mean they have the right to meddle into everyone’s affairs.

I’m scared of what might happen when there’s a war. I’m too young to know what it’s like and I’d like to remain in the dark of what it’s like. I’m afraid I can’t afford to live on my own anymore and have to move back in with my mom which would deprive me of my freedom. And that freedom is what I value most. I can do without luxury and food for a while (hell, I’m a student and I have eaten pretty gross food that was almost not good for consumption anymore), but without my freedom I think I would go raving mad.

The itch and rash are coming back, I fear. The weather and stress contribute to that. I should worry less.
Well, first let’s go to Utrecht and spend those savings on nice clothing.

I don't think you have to be scared hun :-)
War won't touch us over here, except that prices for everything will go up a notch dammit. That stupid Bush thinks he's cool, but I'm hoping for war to visit Amerika some day, so they won't think of it as something to have popcorn with...

That's my problem. I can hardly pay for living on my own now, let alone if prices go up a notch.

Besides, I'm still a bit focused on the whole Cold War thing. That because they couldn't reach America they aimed at Europe.

But that's just the stress talking, I s'pose.
