Wildling weekend
Oct. 20th, 2017 12:23 pmThis weekend I'll be camping out in the woods with the wildlings. We've got a little scouting hut, a fire pit, and the beautiful autumn colours of the forest. No clue yet what we'll be playing for -- the setting's plot is notoriously over-my-head. I can't even grasp the full scope of the rulebook, but I've noticed this is a trend that continues in other settings as well.
Windsong was based on Noranti from Farscape, in that she is a muttering mother-figure whose brews and concoctions might do what they are supposed to do but you're never sure about the side-effects. There's very little of her on YouTube, so I can't refresh my memory. But Windsong is a capable ritualist, because if you're not capable there's no use for you in the clan anymore. And despite all the quirks, the clan likes being mothered by her, so that's allright then.
I'll be tackling the Saturday night dinner as well, cooking Babi Ketjap for 13 people, which is exciting and a little daunting.
There's a ton of other stuff to do this weekend as well. I'll miss the Dancing at the Darcy's event, as well as the Knitting Days in Zwolle, so I hope everyone is having a great time. I know I will enjoy my days out in the forest to the max!
