I made this; Needle Booklet
Apr. 21st, 2016 03:15 pmTime to post something I sewed ages ago, since it's going into the swap today.
In our Ravelry group we have ongoing swaps, each with a different price range. I saw a beautiful blue/grey sock wool today, and claimed it. But that means I need to post a new offering, so the swap keeps going! This was a 2-4 euro swap, so I posted this:

It's a needle booklet, to hold your blunt or sharp needles used for binding off and weaving in ends. It's the safest way I know to transport a needle from point A to point B and it'll keep sharp points away from your fingers as you're digging in your project bag.
I made two of these, both with their own details. The one I use is exactly the same, but has bias tape binding and a buttonhole on the strap. This needle booklet has a magnetic clasp (which can double as a safe way to grab stray needles from your project bag if any escape).
Two weeks back I picked up more of colour-coordinated felt, so I already know what the next one will look like. It's a great way to use up remainders of quilting cotton.
Hopefully someone will claim it today or tomorrow, or I'll have to think of something else to offer on the swap. This weekend the Knit-and-Crochet days are held in Rijswijk, so it will be perfect to deliver it to the new owner then. I will receive the sock yarn I claimed and the second-hand books I bought of Fiberrachel.
Very much looking forward to the weekend!
