Well, this is turning out one of those strugglesome projects where you just have to keep at it until it's done.
Progress is slow, also because the hand-knit items for Windsong came up. Now that those are done, I can pick up the Aragorns again. I've also cast on a mindless sock that knits away quite nicely, for nights when I don't want to pay attention to twisted stitches. There's quite a difference in whether you knit with wool (will stretch and slides easily on the needles) and cotton (doesn't stretch much and seems to cling to the needles).

Aragorn 12

Last night I've finally increased to enough stitches. Because I'm now knitting the large size, I needed to increase 33 stitches in the front gusset. You can see the shaping works quite well, and the pattern also includes instructions for when you have a high instep. (hoge wreef)

Next steps:
Turn the heel. It's a simple short row heel, I've done it on these socks before, after all. I just have to keep going.
