Nearly there!
Jul. 25th, 2014 09:18 pmIt feels like I've got a week to go until Drachenfest but in thruth tomorrow is my last workday before we pack up and leave. With my weekend's lopsidedness I get to work one day extra before going (I used to have Saturdays off), but it pays off after the fact with a free Monday for free.
I am also very proud to say this week prior to the event has been very relaxed. There were some challenges, but they were nothing in comparison to previous years' last-minute projects:
- getting up at six am to have my hair braided into cornrows on Wednesday morning before work
- finishing my dress uniform (last bits done last night)
- hemming a sleeve or two on Eisirt's costume
Not having a thousand things to finish actually has me a little bored.
Tomorrow after work I drive to Hilversum for the final braiding. I am very grateful to Yava'in who will braid most of the group's hair, and adamant the boys will learn to do their share so that we can lighten the load next year.
Sunday I will braid Eisirt's hair and we will have dinner at a fancy restaurant in Eindhoven to celebrate that we are together for six months (today exactly). Light packing will ensue (or pre-sue) this dinner.
I spent most of my evening so far playing Ingress, and cycling around de Hurk and Veldhoven, claiming portals, making links and establishing fields. This got me about halfway to level 4, so going strong.
Now...what to do for the rest of the evening....?
