The weekend is rapidly approaching, and I'm looking forward to another weekend of Home Improvement. Tonight I bought more wallpaper at the Kwantum and some paints that will work just fine for the doors that need a paint job. I was a little scared that I might not have enough to do on Monday when the plasterer will be working on my kitchen and bathroom walls, but now that I just phoned my dad I am very confident I have more than enough to do.

Random order, although some cannot run in parallel:
  • Dust, rinse, mop EVERYTHING
  • Pre-paint a piece of red wall in the bedroom. (Probably have to do this tomorrow night)
  • Cover laminate floor to protect it from wild paint jobs
  • Paint all ceilings (kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, hallway, toilet)
  • Paint uniplex on the balcony
  • Wallpaper bedroom
  • Sand, prime & paint door frame of living room
  • Sand & paint living room door
  • Sand & paint bedroom windowed wall

As for discounts:
I went to Kwantum because they're advertising hilarious discounts on everything. I bought lovely wallpaper and some really cheap paint (€ 7,- per tin, for my doors).
Then there's my father & stepmother, who found a discount on an Indesit washing machine. It was on sale from € 350,- now for € 199,-! They just need to ask Raphael to help them load it into the car. Keeping my fingers crossed for that one.

And at Gamma, where I've now been named Employee of the Week and Citizen of High Moral Standing (or some such) they not only had the plastic primer I need for the door frames, but also have a 25% discount on shower cabins and bathroom furniture. OMG! Such great timing.
I just need a way to transport everything, and there's the slight snag that I need to work tomorrow and the discount is until Sunday next. I am seriously considering buying my shower cabin at the nextdoor Gamma across the roundabout and walking it to Lindenlust until I can find someone to transport it for me. (Aurum can only transport things up to 150cm in length if they're wider than 50 cm.)

ETA: Shower cabin bought and it does fit in Aurum, so I'm dropping it off tonight.

Anyone willing and able to help out with some light mopping, sanding and painting is most welcome next Sunday in Eindhoven. I will be there early, to make some head start with the cleaning and pre-painting before my dad unleashes his tornado.
