Getting there
Feb. 1st, 2013 03:01 pmI'm drinking my first cup of coffee this week and the fact that I feel like drinking coffee again is a good sign. I'm very nearly declaring myself healthy again, but I intend to take it slow the next few days.
I'm tackling some small, minor tasks. Calculating stitch gauge for knitting projects takes a little longer than usual but since I can't sit still I've tackled the Gnome Glittery Blanket project (previously known as the Starburst Shawl). I set up 250 stitches for the full width of the blanket and intend to continue knitting blocks in stockinette, framed by garter stitches, until I run out of yarn.
Sitting down and knitting a row here and there is not that taxing, after all.
This morning I also sketched the layout of my quilt workshop blocks. If I want to make this a nice quilt, I will need several additional blocks so the thing doesn't stay square.
I intend to tackle some minor tasks today, just keeping my head down, so that I am all fresh and ready for a new week of working on Monday. Randstad has claimed me for two days and Albron asked if I could do some extra hours on Monday, so I really need to be well enough by then.
Lionman calls it "pushing shit off the mountain". I like that description. It makes the mountain (of shit) smaller.
