Housewarming party
Jan. 22nd, 2012 09:40 amLast night we had our housewarming party which was a success but also somewhat of a disappointment all at once.
I had invited a ton of people, but some people said they couldn't make it, and on the last two days more and more e-mails poured in that people were not going to make it. I had figured January to be a good timing, but I forgot about the flu season...
My mother and Luc kicked off the party with their amazing happy energy, and soon were joined by Lanzaned who'd made it all this way from Rotterdam. I was very happy that
wannabe_bitch could make it as well, and then the doorbell was quiet for a long time. By the time dinnertime rolled around,
nachtvisser turned up, having been playing Skyrim and completely forgetting about our little soirée, but just in time for soup and killing off various of the pie. Then
twilightbanana showed up and later in the evening Palanthe and her beau and Ragar and Jet.
Because of the Van Leij clan not coming I was down four big eaters, so I didn't even put all of the things I'd bought on the table, but it was laden with snacks most of the day. Here's a picture of the epic pies:

Gevulde speculaas, chocolate bunt with chocolate and then some more chocolate, cherry kwarktaart, cookies and speculaas.
Later, there was cheese and crisps and toast and ... assorted goodness.
We never managed to finish everything off, but in the end the beer I'd bought had been drunk, so that's a mercy, and it was great fun with the people who came!
