My half-yearly (biannual?) visit to the dentist was today. Though I need to use toothpicks and possibly brush my teeth a second time each day, everything looked good.

And I realised how blessed I am with my current dentist(s) and mouth hygene therapist (? Practicioner? Advisor?). I used to go to a dentist who was very moody. He was a chagrined man. Perhaps that was just because I hadn't visited him for several years. But it wasn't fun to go, and he definitely didn't encourage more visits with his behaviour.

Now I visit a dental clinic in Woerden, where the clinic has multiple dentists working for them, all very cheerful, most of them women. There's mouth hygene therapists who show you how to brush, how to use toothpicks, and what to take care of. Both my mother and me were helped quickly, by smiling young women who were most cheerful. After colouring and showing me what needed more practice, the mouth hygene advisor made place for a dentist who did a quick check. Five minutes and she was done, after which the first lady cleaned my teeth and rinsed out my mouth.

*two thumbs up*

And I'm very happy with my general practicioner. Another one of those too cheerful young women with a career, my GP makes time to talk to me, praises me when I've done something right, and really gives me a healthy feel-good feeling. She takes me seriously, and explains things so I understand them.

So here's to you ladies, who take care of my body and show me how I should do it too! Huzzah and thank you!
