Did I not notice last year that the Summoning was not my kind of event? Did I not see how bad the plot was?
Well, there's definitely no use crying over what I saw back then or trying to prove I was right and how stupid I was in going there anyway. We went. Soit.

But let me just state that the Summoning is definitely not my kind of event. The calls of what weapons do are hardly out of the air, there was a little plot (we ran across 1 whole plotline, the one with the stones), and there are a lot of extra powers. From people throwing fatals around (those HURT), to people having magic spirit whatever weapons.

Thursday was a rushed day. Dropping off the cats went well, and we were en route in time. Apeldoorn wasn't too hard to find. The park itself is beautiful, though we had some problems doing the whole parking-thing. In the end, Ryuzo, Magura, Pluis, Bas (from Levi nowadays) and I walked back through the park, a long walk but fun because of the company.
We had two enourmous tents, 6 by 3 meters, and they were set up before I knew it. My partytent was made the shrine in the corner of the camp, while the two big tents stood at a 90ish degree angle, cornering off a huge piece of the camp. A second partytent was made the entrance, and we set up water there so people could wash their hands when entering the house.

Fridaymorning we manouvered all this into place, and we set up the bathhouse bit. Half of the first tent was a bathhouse, the other half OC-dump and kitchen. The other huge tent was covered in mats and littered with cushions: our 'livingroom'. We set up the bath and went a-walking with buckets to get it filled. Luckily Erna agreed to drive to and fro with the jerrycans that could close. That helped a lot.
The worst thing happening before Time-in was that one of the big tents, the one with the livingroom, with Esther sleeping in there at that time, was blown away. It just rolled over its roof before people stopped it, and it didn't even fall apart or hurt anybody. That's when NoKey went beserk on tying everything down firmly.
Before he was really done, there was a talk on safety and stuff and a lot of things were mentioned that wouldn't make Tony very happy. Tony's from security, and went by the camps to tell people what was prohibited. Stuff like tying people up for real, hitting heads, hitting hard, etc. They're in charge that as little people as possible have to go to the hospital. Larp is a game, but it has to be safe.

Time ....IN! )

So last night we drove back, got a detour near Utrecht and somehow got to drive back via Gorinchem. *sigh* Sleep was good, and today I browsed the fora addictively, cleaned a bit and cuddled our cats profoundly. Dusty was so cute in the pound, they were so happy to see us again.
It took about 2 hours to write this post, adding pictures and reading back. That must be a record.
