Respect for our Prime Minister.
Jun. 2nd, 2005 10:06 amI must say, I have a feeling of deep respect for our Prime Minister, JayPee, right now. He has shown himself to be a person who respects the democracy and is certainly not a sore loser.
From the NOS:
A loose translation (by me):
"This is a clear result. The Dutch voters have given a clearly understandable signal", said Prime Minister Balkenende in a first reaction. "It is clear that the government will respect this result". According to Balkenende the referendum was not a sign against Europe.
And from Nu.nl:
TR: We must work hard to include the inhabitants/civilians more in the Europe of the future. That is what the government shall work for.
I applaud his insight in the situation. Do you think he reads my journal? *smirk*
Well, that is about the first point I would hand him in his political career so far.
I voted blank, by the way: I want to show up for these kinds of things, but I can not choose between yes or no in an issue that is so clearly grey that there is no black nor white.
