Bella Hendriks' Modevakschool
Nov. 28th, 2004 11:22 amCurrent personal projects (correctly this time):
Yesterday was much fun. We went to Bella Hendriks Modevakschool (school for fashion designers) to pick up about Eur 35.70 of fournitures. NoKey found lingerie-thingies, and I picked up a busk and a pattern for a bra in my humongous size. I think that I might be able to make myself a nice bra and corset if I want to. And I have time. And patience.
The BHMV was fun. There was a course in bra-making in motion, and four women and a man were sewing on their bra's and slips while the woman helping us picked out all the fournitures we wanted. She knew her business well.
We took the bus back and then the train to Rotterdam CS. There we metro'ed to Beurs, and had dinner at our favourite Greek restuarant 'Olympia'. The Choriatiki (Farmer's salad) was exquisite and very tasteful, and the Giros I had tender and good, especially in combo with the Tzaziki. Had a marvellous dinner, and some quality time with NoKey, who immediately tried to translate the wall-ornaments. We are always greeted friendly there, and even more warmly because NoKey asks for a table for two in Greek. Need to bring my mother there one day.
Today I'll try and cut and sew those three cloaks I wanted to make from Schroders fabrics, and try to finish the kilt and or the tunic for Michel. *sigh* It's a busy time, and I'm not very inspired to work (but need to kick my ass into gear!!)
- knitting of black and white scarf. Just started on
yarn 3out of 4 ballsthe last ball of yarn. - embroidering Gwen's blouse. First manchet ( 4 by 30 cm) is about
1/3half finished. Then still need to do one sleeve (60 by 45 cm). Then still need to make a polyester (wrinkle-free but melts-when-close-to-campfire and colour-will-not-fade-with-use fabric) dress copy of my cotton (wrinkles, but doesn't-melt-onto-skin and colour-will-fade-when-washed fabric) dress. - Knitting a stola (triangle) is also something that's lying around waiting for me.
- The 'Veela' project. Costume, headdress, weapon all need to be done still. Did buy pattern and some 'lets try this' fabric. Deadline: May 2005.
- The bra project.
- The corset project.
- Numerous underdefined projects I already bought fabric for.
- Writing on Tis' story.
