Laugh until your lungs come out
Nov. 19th, 2004 09:59 pmWe just watched The Nightmare Before Christmas That movie is teh weird. Thanks
sna for that advice! My mom always is a bit scared about these kind of 'horror movies'. I just think it was very funny. The number of rhyme in there alone is mind-boggling.
Also re-watched the dance sequence of "Tango the Roxanne" in Moulin Rouge, sung by Jose Feliciano and Ewan MacGregor. The raspiness of Jose's voice, the intensity of the dance, the paralel between the song and the dance and the scenes, the great marksmanship on cutting and pasting - I love Baz Luhrman by the way - makes that scene SO intense. It gets me all jittery to make myself one of those dance outfits, and dance the stars away. Also still want 1880s dress, but 26 pattern pieces including a bumroll are scary enough for themselves.
Memo to me: abduct Glimmeh for a weekend and study a tango together or something. That would be cool.
I'd so sign up for dance classes again but for two things: a partner of my height (noone but my brother comes close especially when I'm on heels) and money.
We brought LaaLaa lock to the vet today, and tomorrow we'll know if she needs to be put to sleep. The fact that every 10 cm I needed to rethread one to three of the moving parts that can have threads through them is enough for me to try to strangle the thing and throw it out of the window. A severe blow to my bloodpressure that was.
This afternoon the Scot and Karijn came over to drop off some 6 meters of wool for a kilt. Finally: no more mini-kilt for Angus!
And then we shopped for groceries and ate salmon with pom' duchesse, mayo and dill, and cauliflower. MMMM!
Oh, 4d0r3 my new Palpatine-ish lj icon! Me feel so 3\/1l!
