Sewing course - Ouch The Toe
Sep. 29th, 2004 06:17 pmToday Jocelyn came over for a small sewing course. It was kind of fun in a way. She's not the brightest candle but she's nice. In a way. She did pick up the thread of sewing quite quickly though, and we managed to finish a Japanese hakama in a mere 4 hours.
It's a kind of trend to play Japanese/Samurai at larps here recently, and I must say that though we had the idea in January and we had a nice group and some pretty fucking amazing roleplay at Drachenfest, most people don't mind the little details. Samurai waltzing around in shinobi outfits or Chinese shirts. I can dig that they would import the Chinese silk, but not the style.
*sigh*
Ah well I did my bit. Still need to make my own black hakama for butstraining.
And then in the middle of the day I stubbed my toe very fucking badly on a guitar amp that wasn't supposed to be next to the couch but for the redecorating of the livingroom. OUCH. Fucking OUCH. It's pretty swollen and when I've been sitting for a while I can hardly walk. It gets better after the blood starts flowing again, but I am really in a shitload of pain. I just hope it isn't broken. The last thing I want is to walk around on crutches for 6-8 weeks.
Today the info for the Triganda/Darling Gothic & Fantasy Fair came in. Posters, Flyers, and a bill. Paid the bill instantly, as to get it out of the way.
More concerning Dolle Griet: with the new sewing machines my life will be so much easier. Guarantueed less stress and more fun, in any case. I can now kill the Clothpile (which, after the redecoration is twice as big since all hidden and lost bags are added to it!).
And I finally got the money from that girl who ordered a skirt with me in February. Go me! I only have two debtors now. One only owes me for a blouse and trousers, but the other owes me a month rent and my downpayment of my old room. I don't think she'll be too eager to pay. It's a lot of money.
Anyway, I think this would be a good time to cut some more cloaks.
