The New Us (ahhh redecoration....)
Sep. 27th, 2004 10:09 amInstead of doing a photoshoot of my weaponry, there were some unexpected surprises yesterday. And I'm not even speaking of the morning sex, but more of the fact that mom dropped by with a lockmachine.
When I was pondering on buying Brother Spawn, and I discussed the matter with NoKey and my mother, mom said that she was also busy getting me a second-hand lockmachine, and that it was at a store where they'd do a complete check-up before she could buy it. A friend of hers who has a sewing-machine factory checked it, and suggested a price.
So when NoKey and I were discussing the sewing machine, mom said that she was working on it, but that she didn't know how long it would take, all in all, and how much it would cost. And once I bought Brother Spawn she said that I would get the lockmachine as a gift from her and Luc. So sweet!
Luc called yesterday, and said that he had a nice little machine in the back of the car. The dots connected, and they were joyfully welcomed for coffee or tea. Meanwhile, I tidied the living a bit, and shooed the cats. They did indeed bring the lockmachine! And is so purty!
Okay, I have no clue whatsoever whether it works or not, but I like it already. As a thank-you I showed mom what I was making for her: a set of camisole and french knickers in purple microfiber. I'm working on two sets, one for her, and one for me. She felt the fabric and was swooning already.
When they left, NoKey and I pondered the livingroom. I said it would be much more convenient if we had the big drawing table which he uses to draw patterns and I use to cut large bits of fabric, under the window. So he suggested switching the bookcase and the dressoir. I drew a small map of the space we have, and penciled in several possible setups for the furniture, but we ended up just switching the dressoir and the bookcase. Which is not so "just" at all, since all the books had to be packed in boxes, the Clothpile had to be moved, and all the jars of latex had to be removed from the dressoir. Notice how I'm not even mentioning all the paperwork that's lying around everywhere. There was a lot of it.
Now the Clothpile and Geoffrey are keeping me company here in the 'hobbyroom' which is basically our computerroom because we do almost all of our other hobbying in the livingroom. The small couch is filled with the loose bags of cloth that I had lying around, and I packed the two less-used sewing machines (NoKey's and my old one) and stashed them under a table next to the couch. Ofcourse timing this redecorating business with my period is ghastly, since I will be cleaning everything that needs to be moved...
In any case, we're not quite done yet, but now I'm stuck in a house that is messy in a strange way, and NoKey had a meeting with his former and quite possibly future boss about the contract. They're going to wrap it up (hopefully) and then he'll start working again soon. I suggested to wait with starting work for at least two weeks, because of all the lingerie-projects he still has lying around and he doesn't seem to have time for. But we'll see.
I'm in for coffee at Sjuuls, though I'm not sure whether she is. And I need to buy lockthread coils. Hm.
