Housewarming at Ignis'
Jul. 11th, 2004 08:44 pmIgnis had a new pad, which had to be properly de-mugglefied. So party-time it was when we hopped into Voltars car yesterday at two. Driving all the way to the German border, Ivonne, Voltar, NoKey and I had fun underway, and found Ignis' new pad quite swiftly. A nice cottage-house, large and white and new, in a very quiet village just over the border near Nijmegen.
We were in time for some kata training for Drachenfest, so NoKey and I grabbed a couple of larpswords and joined Mike and co. in the meadow, training. It was fun learning stuff, though with Mike standing 90 degrees turned from us it was hard to see what he was doing and which foot he was moving.
The food was great, and after an adventuring party and a walk with Ivonne, Voltar,
steelweaver and
twilightbanana (me playing the priest with terminal 'smetvrees': "unholy! unholy! ew ew ew ew ewwwww!!! Grosss!!!") we just played with the guys from downstairs. Great music, great atmosphere. Sadly Ivonne had a migraine attack so Voltar took her to her parents' house. After two and a half glass of rose, I just got really sleepy, and NoKey and I were the first to hit the sack.
This morning we woke up to the sound of Voltar and Ignis talking downstairs, and I zombied over to get some coffee. Soon the entire attic of larpers was awake, and Ignis got cracking on rolls and eggs. Pluis,
josianne, Theo, Willem, NoKey and me got out after breakfast, and practised a lot more on the kata. They got better and better and I felt goooood. I think it looks great if we do it on Drachenfest, and I'm very proud of our group!
Soon after that we got into the car and drove to Venlo to pick up Ivonne so Voltar could drive her home later. That guy is just too sweet. We enjoyed ourselves by singing sick songs (a Bangles ripoff "Close your eyes / give me your hand / I can feel your heart beating / darling / do you feel the pain" as well as various Nick Cave songs, with the Curse of Milhaven featuring high on our favorites list).
We watched the second half of Harry Potter III, and I think we're about to hit the sack. It's great to go out and train, it's just that you get really tired really soon. RSI has nothing on how my elbow is feeling at the moment.
