The weekend
Jul. 2nd, 2004 12:44 pmThis weekend is going to be a busy but hopefully satisfying one. Yesterday mom reminded me of their barbeque, which had totally slipped my mind. But we'll try to make it anyway, mostly because we promised and ofcourse because they ordered 8 big slices of marinated salmon for on the barbeque.
Then Saturday my grandma is going to be 80! She's celebrating it Nijm-style, I guess, with a lot of food, mostly meat, and family. It's always fun to see grandma again, and I can't wait to see what she will say about my operaskirt.
The downside to this is that Nijeveen is 180 kilometers from here, roughly. With holiday traffic and the trains not going between Amersfoort and Zwolle (people are sent to Deventer, whaddaya mean sidetracking!), we still have to figure out how to go, but Luc offered us a ride north since they had to be at the flightclub at 9. I wonder what we'll do between 9 and half past ten, when we're expected and grandma's.
Ah well. I always bring long-trip-survival-package, which consists of a book, a dummy with pens and paper, and a NoKey to play with. *grin*
I also just realised that for the Summoning I'll have to make a few cloaks, and I hardly have any warm fabrics (which is basically what a cloak is all about). Maybe Pasje can spare a night to have me/us come over to pick up some cloth.
