Flamenco Dress: the first hesitant signs of trouble

The first signs of trouble. I measured the pattern and it's - of course - made for people way way shorter than I am. Changing the pattern would require many, many adjustments which might devastate the look of the dress. So I'm thinking about skipping the pattern alltogether, donating it to Julliette, and making my own pattern.

I'm going over to Julliette's in a bit, have to call her first though. I got some exciting news about Dolle Griet, which she couldn't have read yet, since she's not on my friends list (her being with Deadjournal, our eternal dark fiend etc etc.). She'll be so thrilled, I think.
And I'm really looking forward to Utrecht tomorrow. Even if it does involve walking in the icey rain. I need the cloth, so I can get started for Dolle Griet.

But first things first: a Logo!

Another enervating experience.

So I just came back home, from visiting Julliette. I always love going over to her place. She's the kind of girl who would wear gothic all day every day no matter what her kids do, just because she wants to. She has two kids, who are basically cute rascals. She's a sister in spirit and she does thesame things with sewing machines as I do.

We went to the Orion Workshop, where she also works. Guiding people with a visible handicap, she explained. She said all of us have a handicap, but most of them are invisible. You're either stubborn, or wear lenzes, or can't say no when someone asks you a favour.
The workshop was great. All the people there were really busy, and it's their job. Jules said 'if they can break pieces of wax, we set them to breaking pieces of wax'. One person tips a button with her head or her hand, and the candles dip into the wax. Another pours candlewax in the shapes. Each has their very own task. And they do great jobs. I was very inspired, even if I felt a little awkward at being there. Because you don't meet that many people with a visible handicap. Especially not in such large quantities. But it was great. I wasn't really afraid, I just felt out of place. After all, I was barging in at their work space.

Jules was very happy with the pattern, and we talked about clothes and kids a bit. Before I knew it it was four pm, and MrFinn who was just crashing there, accompanied me to the Oosterhof shopping center. We ran into my brother there.
With Finn, I can be my brutal self. I can laugh about comics like Preacher and Transmet, even if they are bloody, crude, and offensive to some people, but at least they have a clear meaning in the sometimes philosophical violence corner.
With my brother, I feel like I'm being pressed into an oddly shaped corset. If I talk about the things I love, like larp, he manages to change the subject within the minute (a new world record ladies and gentled men [I've been reading too much Jordan] ) Maybe he feels the same way around me. But running into Jos dampened my spirits for a bit. Finn cheered me up shortly after though, and we visited Burger King, laughing about jokes of the Sum. It's been too long since I was on the loose with Finn, and I enjoyed listening to his best-selling jokes, the ones that get nasty when he tells them to often.

So, I'm very content right now. A rough Friday night and Saturday ahead of us, but Sunday we can tinker on creativity.
