It has begun.
Mar. 20th, 2003 09:39 amLast night I stayed up until 2.25 am or something. The time of the ultimatum; nothing happening on CNN or Ned2, so I went to bed. This morning TC got up, took a shower and put on the News. At 3.13 the war had begun.
I took a t-shirt and wrote “Make Love Not War” on it in pen. As I’m beginning to ‘understand’ (as far as it can be understood in this day and age) I’m becoming more active and anti.
On the news: shots of a nightsky, flashes of light. The sounds made me sick to my stomach. Sounds of war. A man, clearly in a lot of stress and anxiety, in a foreign tongue (irakees) reporting what was happening.
I cried.
Next to “why” there are a lot of questions that come to mind. But it makes no sense at all. Whatever happened to James Bond? Why not send in 15 navy seals or commando’s to infiltrate Baghdad and take away Saddam, if you want to get rid of him so badly.
Sick. Sick. Sick.
