[Mental note: breathe!]
Jan. 20th, 2002 02:08 pmWell, I just dropped TommyCee off at the train station. We had some fun yesterday. There was this festival called Ede Zuigt (Ede sucks), but I think the best translation would be Ede Zuipt (Ede is getting very drunk and behaving like a complete asshole. Dutch is a great language. You can actually say all that in one word)
There were some great bands: Discipline, The Beans (a band from Ede), Peter Pan Speedrock (yay), Oxymoron, etc. The festival started at 3 in the afternoon. I mean, come ON! Three in the afternoon? Are you guys totally weird?
TC and I arrived at a quarter to four, which can be called Fashionably late but too cool to care. The first band was already shouting their lungs out, and all I could see was mohawk, mohawk, mohawk. I really felt uncomfortable at first. But later on, there were more people with some other haircuts also. Mohawks are cool but I was afraid we would be the only non-mohawk people around.
When Peter Pan finally played, at 8 pm or so, the hall was full, and I stood up front dancing! Wheehee. I danced. I actually danced. The psycho billies jumping around and hurting eachother, hit eachother in the face, and there was almost a fight, but some dude prevented it. Most men at these partays are getting really drunk and then are going to act like assholes. That was the downside of this.
The total upside from yesterday evening was that I really felt comfortable in what I was wearing (black flared pants, black punk belt, black v-necked tee with very blue top over it) and I was standing around in the crowd like Im so fucking bored, and that is why I am looking at yer tush when there was no band on stage. And I managed to pull that face off! I got away with it! I did not get hit on by some drunk psycho billy with a total uncool haircut without a shirt, so I think that is positive. Well maybe it helps that TommyCee was standing right next to me wearing her Im so fucking cool and youre a drunk asshole face.
So we were cool, and so not groupie- or fan-like. And the music was good. Seeing all the colours of the rainbow in the mohawks that are blocking your view of the totally rad bass-player was fun. Roel is cool! Remco was actually bouncing around with the psycho billies. And there were so many cool people!
This morning I tried to copy some cool riffs from the guitars from last night, but that did not work out at all. It just sounded really dumb and amateuristic. And I should actually be working on my portfolio, but Im not. Im writing my LJ for tomorrow.
This week is project week, and I am so not into it. Im in the radio club so Im supposed to make some news-show or something and I am really uninspired. [Mental note: watch news!]
And Im afraid I will fail the radio and tv assignments I had to hand in last week. Cris helped me film and everything but the cutting+pasting of the film went wrong, the music is too loud, the cuts are not all that, and I wish I had said my name in the film. And I was so stupid to mention, in front of the man whos going to judge it, that I was not going to redo the cutting and pasting because I thought it was a stupid lousy job which is too much effort after 3 hours of cutting and pasting already. Or something in that order.
And the radio assignment went wack. The microphone was too soft with the shrink we interviewd and the music is too loud and I know it is only our first time working with the studio but I also know that Sipke is really going to give me less than a 4 for it. Even though I am sort of satisfied with the product. Im just so afraid I am going to fail this term. I cant redo it. I dont have the time for that!
