Personal log, stardate 02122.7
Dec. 27th, 2002 12:58 pmPff I don’t think I ever want to work another day on Christmas. *Grin* That is, until I see my paycheck, probably. I used to think I wasn’t such a materialist but the aching feet are a bit comforted by all the greens I’ll get.
I worked from 14.00 hours until midnight or somewhere around that time. The main problem was of course being on my feet all the time, and the stress that comes with nine tables throughout the evening. I had the 1 thru 6 area, but tables 3,4 and 6 were occupied twice during my working hours. At three, these tables were taken, and as soon as the last people left, we cleaned them, remade the tables and around seven the next guests for these tables came.
There was a special buffet for Christmas including Deerflesh and Wild Boarflesh, different soup, and hot cherries on cherry- and vanilla ice-cream. Plus of course Kir Royal (cherry liquor with bubblywine [semi-champagne]) and a small apéritif with the coffee. I must say people enjoyed it.
At five I got to eat pizza upstairs as dinner and after work, around twelve, we as the staff got to barbecue ourselves to make sure there were no left-overs. While Miel, Michael, Emile, Sander, Timo and Erik dug in on the meat, I had requested vegetarian. I just was so not in the mood for dripping flesh at that time. The vegetarian corn-peas-soy balls did well on the barbecue and I sipped my glass of Kir Royale while I listened to the boys boast. *Grin*
I almost fell asleep there at the table, but I pulled myself together to clear the table while the boys changed from their Gonzales tee’s to their regular outfits. The tips of the Christmas days were handed out. I had collected over twenty euro’s, but since I had only worked for 10 hours I got 13 euro something. It’s strange to remember that I have to work again tomorrow and the day after that. It being weekend and all.
On a different note, I’ll be welcoming Tommy home today, we might even speak. It seems like ages.
And I’m also very much in the mood to work on some larp clothing. I don’t need any anymore, but I still feel like it. I think I have my basic gear together. I might…well…maybe just some rough-fabric tunic or something. That green woodelvishlike thing is a bit too shiny if you’re a warrior…*ponders and hummms*
Monday there is a clothmarket in Ede. Maybe even pick up something. I can always go and check it out…see and feel some nice fabric. Hmmm.
