The aslan was snarling at Myles as he took a swing with his cutlass. The aslan wasn't wearing any armour, and the cutlass bit deep into its side. The cut was deep and it would have floored anyone, but the aslan grunted in pain and turned his wounded side away from the weapon. He bared his long teeth in an eager smile and growled a challenge at Myles.

In the back of the warehouse Hasta thundered up the steps to checking for more enemies on the first floor. Meanwhile, Qupar raised his pistol to shoot at the aslan, but completely missed his shot. He took a step back to get some distance between himself and the big catlike creature, making sure not to step on the corpse of the bandit.
The aslan pulled a knife and took a swing at Myles, but it slid off the borrowed flak jacket. Myles brought up his cutlass to slap the blade out of the aslan’s hands, but the aslan managed to hold onto it. Myles took another swing at the bandit, trying to injure him further, but the quick movements from the aslan caused him to miss.
From the first floor landing, Hasta fired two long streams of bullets. They entered the aslan's body at the shoulder, the bullet's trajectories going down into his torso, through the lungs and heart. The aslan slumped to the ground, dead.

After receiving the all clear, Moira moved the lorry up to the warehouse and they used the boom and winch to load the crystals into the back. Moira looked around herself nervously, not sure that all the bandits were dead and expecting one to jump out from behind some crates. Qupar checked the fallen bandits for survivors, but Hasta had a more practical approach. "We can't leave any witnesses, so let's just kill everybody." he said, while he fired a round into the head of an unconscious bandit at his feet.
They also checked the warehouse for anything else they could use. Myles loaded up a small box of useful things into the back of the lorry, and Hasta tossed two pairs of binoculars, a grappling hook and some rope, as well as some lock picking tools into the box. In the offices, Qupar stumbled across some papers with notes with the name of the informant and folded it into his jacket pocket to take it to Hassenbach.

Hasta piled everything that is flammable into a big pile and poured a canister of fuel over it.
"Didn't Hassenbach specifically ask us not to create a big scene?" Myles asked.
"He said not to leave any evidence." Hasta retorted.
"He also said that blowing up the building while we're 10 miles outside the city would be unwise." Qupar pointed out.
"This is just an accidental fire. It's fine." Hasta replied. He shook the final drops from the fuel canister in a trail outside he could light from a safe distance.
"An accidental fire with six corpses." Myles pointed out.
"By the time they find the corpses they'll be ash, won't they? It'll be fine." Hasta said. He had made sure all the corpses had been dragged into the warehouse earlier, but there were trails of blood outside.
Moira was revving the engine nervously as Hasta and Myles walked up to the lorry.
"Just stay under the speed limit and keep cool." Qupar told her in a soft voice. He was hoping she wouldn't give in to her panic. The last thing they needed was being pulled over by the local law enforcement for speeding.
They all piled into the lorry. Hasta checked for any witnesses and flicked the butt of his burning cigarette into the trail of accelerant and banged on the roof. Off they went into the sunrise as the warehouse went up in flames.
