Qualifying Round: Wohin?

janestarzSpecs dropped, and never did I think the first round would kick off before March first, but here we are!
The Qualifying Round features a sock that has all the problems the recent Mrs. Tiggywinkles had, and more. At least the Tiggywinkles gave some extra yarn length for the slipped stitches by wrapping the yarn around the needle twice. These puppies have us pick up a purl ridge from six rows ago and pull the whole work out of whack.
Still, it knits away very swiftly and the effect is great:
I sorted through my sock yarns, thinking all I wanted was to get rid of some of that nasty Fabel yarn. I dislike the brand and how they appropriate other people's creative work (original design here) and pass it off as their own. This is why you won't see me knitting any Drops patterns. I also know their competetively priced yarn and mandatory sales are being shoved down Local Yarn Shop's throats, creating unfair competition between yarn brands. LYS told me during a Drops (mandatory) sale for mandatory low prices, none of their other yarns sell.
Fabel might be the cheapest yarn out there, but I'm done and will not endorse these kind of business practices.
I was happy to see there were hardly any big lengths of Fabel left in my stash. That's how I ended up choosing between petrol and fuchsia or the above combination. Petrol and fuchsia, at lamplight, was quite bright already and I don't think I would have enjoyed knitting that at all. Maybe with a third colour in the mix, yeah. I remember the finale sock of SM11, the Fjóra Liti socks with four colous had me combine fuchsia, petrol, grey and black. Never did finish them, though.
Anyway. For this Madness I hope to be in a team again...SM11 where I took the competition seriously still was the most fun Madness I've done to date. The year Kass and Bob visited I was busy with doing social stuff and the event passed me by. Last year I was cheerleading, and never did get very invested. So here's to hoping I'll make a good team!
