The moment I'm trying to work ahead so I won't be stuck at my stepmother's birthday party trying to magically guess how long my sock needs to be. I've spent some hours knitting happily away while watching Biffa on YouTube and have progressed to the toe now, so guessing is no longer needed. And I can finish a toe and cast on the second sock while having coffee and cake.

But it prompted thinking about other socks -- which is probably the last thing I need to worry about. I've so many fun projects on the needles I have no need for socks. But maybe next year, maybe I can finally knit the Four Musketeers socks in some of those variegated and self-striping yarns... Caoua Coffee has designed many wonderful sock patterns, including Porthos, Athos, Aramis and D'Artagnan. They're all lovely textured socks, and they've been in my queue forever. I just never cast them on.

Just what I need, more plans for socks I'll never get around to. Ah well. I'm thankful for the inspiration, at least.
