The Super Secret Redford
Aug. 5th, 2019 10:03 pmI am running a wee bit short on yarn for my Bagtanker so I need to order ONE more skein just to be able to finish it. (I saved the last five grams of yarn so I can blend the old and new yarn together despite them probably being different dye baths).
The fact that I had to order more yarn from Zeven Katten had the wheels turning in my head. I might as well order even *more* yarn, because I have a gift coupon from the Zeven Katten Store and I need to spend it (it's been three years since I was gifted it for my birthday.)
And it's Eisirt's birthday in just about four months.
I did everything but the sleeves of my Bodemloos jumper in about three weeks of knitting.
And Eisirt has been working a lot of evening shifts, opening up three hours of undisturbed, secret knitting each night.
That means knitting him a woolly thing in four months should be totally do-able, right?
I settled on the Redford Pattern, which I've been ogling and loving for a good while. I just bought the pattern off Ravelry, after some positive endorsement from my knitting friends. (You enablers, you). I can have Tyldak send the yarn to my atelier and I can cast on and work on the Redford when Eisirt is working evening shifts or weekend days. I'll buy some more of the Geilsk cotton and wool, because I'm almost spot-on on gauge for the Redford -- which I can measure from the Bagtanker that is made in the same yarn & needles. I just need to figure out which dark colour I will knit for him. He looks quite dashing in purple but I don't think our household can stomach yet another purple project.
So ssssssh. I'm a-knitting a super secret project!
