In the first week of our vacation I started on a leather pouch for Zafira, only to get stuck because I didn't bring the magnetic clasps home with me from the atelier. *sigh* The picture is quite lovely though:

It's not really this bright, is it? Is it!?
I have the kind of clasp that have metal parts that fold over, so I can't set them with a rivet. The best way to finish these nicely is to have an extra layer over it, so you can't see the back end of the clasp. I could either order the rivet kind (I know they exist) or add an extra layer. Now just as it happens, I do have some blue snakeskin nubuck, which would add some sturdiness to the flap. To be continued!
It was great to sew some leather by hand, it's been a while and it brought back fond memories.
In other news, I finished the Dotje...sok. They turn out far larger then expected. I was aiming for size 38, but here they are on blockers of size 40/41:

This heel was new to me, it's a German short-row heel. It took me nearly three hours to knit, and it's great for people with a high instep. However, the person I was knitting them for doesn't have a high instep, so I might have to redo half of the socks just to make them fit her. That's no biggie, I love this pattern. Heleen makes wonderful patterns, and I was not disappointed buying this pattern on a whim!
However, now I've only got one boring sock on the needles, plus two boring sleeves. Either I'm stuck knitting boring things for a while, or I am going to have to figure out what to cast on next. I really do need a new cardigan that is neat enough to wear to work. But sleeves. BORING!
