Not quite nice-eritis
Jul. 20th, 2018 09:15 amRemember how I've frogged a ton of sock projects last year? With some the gauge was too tight and it hurt my hands, but with others I just had a case of "not quite nice-eritis".
I cast on a happy little sock earlier this week. A break from the drugery that is the Strandwanderer. (I'll get back to it and love it, if only for the wonderful yarn I'm using. I know!). And because Rainstorm likes happy bright colours I went with a colour combo I've loved before: red, pink and green. Since that links to a picture of 2010 I'm not surprised if nobody else remembers.
But once I was well underway in my first chart and halfway done with the snowflakes I realised I really hated the green next to the pink. It just didn't *pop*.
So I frogged all the way back to the cuff and switched red and pink around. Look at the difference it makes!

It's the little things that make it all worth while!
The green pops, the pink will make for a lovely backdrop for red snowflakes, and it'll be wonderful. I'm happy now.

By the by....I never did mention how this all started? I had made such a wonderful colour combo for Zafira's new belt I went looking for a sock pattern with 4 or more colours so I could use the same colours. But it seems like a lot of the time I knit with blue, so that was the first to go, and I ended up with a fun, bright little combination instead.
