Disgruntled with the socks on the needles I've picked up the Miranda again to knit on. It's a sleeveless jumper or a cabled vest, depending on how you look at it. Knit in a DK or heavier yarn, it's sure to be warm! I'm making it from Drops Big Fabel, which was very cheap at the thrift store and not the prettiest yarn to knit with.

Cue me looking for clues where I was, what I was doing, why I was doing it and what to do next. Luckily it was easy to figure out. I had crossed a whole section from my pattern so the charts would match up*) and I am keeping tracks of rows in a little notepad. Thank goodness I wrote "Miranda" halfway down the page, because otherwise I'd be completely lost which set of tallies was for this jumper.

*) There was a chart for the L/XL sizes especially. The pattern repeat for the cables is 16 rows, and the L/XL increase chart ended a couple of rows after the cable crossing. The next section told me to repeat part of the chart that started with cable crossings, making the space between cable crossings only 8 rows, in stead of 16!!! This would throw off the entire look of the front cable panel.
After headdesking for a bit, I figured out if I skipped the next section the cabled sections would match up properly, instead of following the previous section far too soon! I'm writing it off as a copy-paste error.

My inner perfectionist is throwing spanners into the works but I'm not listening. The cable panel grows wider from the underarm point towards the bottom hem. This creates a diagonal line emphasizing by big hips and will probably not be very flattering to my figure. My inner perfectionist wants to frog. I'm telling it to zip those lips, shut up and suffer through this poor wool. Let's just finish it and get back to doing stuff perfectly on the next cardigan where I am using a scrumptious Malabrigo!

We've watched quite a lot of TV to relax, the past weeks were a bit tough on both of us, and lounging on the couch seemed like just the ticket. I knit a whole pattern repeat of 16 rows, which is quite a lot since I'm not the smallest girl and there are a LOT of stitches on my needles.
I'll also be on the lookout for some striped jersey so I can make a couple of longsleeves to wear with this once it's done.
