Oh you fickle, fickle b.....eing.
Aug. 8th, 2017 10:03 amI have the yarn.
I have the pattern.
I even have a good start:

But then I also have a disappointed Muse.
She is moping around and saying things like "this is not at all what I had in mind" - and: "There's no drape in it, it's far too stiff."
She's probably right on the second part. But it is all rather disappointing. I'm already at needles 5,5 -- 5 is the maximum on the label and +½ because I knit a little more tightly than usual. In garter stitch it'd be alright, the stitches would be loose and the drape would be gorgeous. In the lichen stitch of the pattern, which features twisted stitches, knits and purls it's a little too dense.
I'm now contemplating what I'll do after I've frogged it. Garter stitch or stockinette stitch will drape beautifully. Maybe I can add some texture to the surface by adding a purl 'rice grain' every so many stitches.
Or I could just go up another half needle size... but then I'd have to redo the lichen stitch and it's not a fast stitch to do. And maybe blocking will fix it!
So....I dunno! Ugh!
