Streepje Anders - fraternal socks
May. 27th, 2017 12:01 pmThis lovely pair of socks is done! The pattern was free for a limited time and this was a Mystery Knit-A-long (MKAL). The Dutch Sock Knitters group was awash with compliments for Heleen, the designer of these socks.
What I find most surprising is how different the pattern on the foot is. I had expected the foot to look the same, but it really matters a lot which colour you choose as your main colour. The right foot, with purple as main colour, looks to be much darker!

The pattern was much fun to knit. The chart on the leg had such surprising results that you just want to keep going and see what the next row would turn out to be. And because it's not a complicated pattern, it's easy but captivating because it's so much fun!
The heel was a Riverbed heel, so that was new to me, but also interesting and not difficult. (I think I'm getting the hang of this sock knitting thing by now.) All in all, really interesting pair of socks, much fun, sweet candy unicorn cotton-wool mix bliss.
ETA: And Heleen loved my socks too, she's asked if my picture can be featured on her pattern's page!!
