Make ALL the pretties!
May. 6th, 2017 11:39 amYear of the Sock is progressing well, with the Sock Madness seeing me finish four pairs already and knitting two pairs on the side. Buying so much sock yarn has me all inspired and the beautiful weather is not helping I'm sure. Spring is coming and I feel inspired to make pretty things. I'm glad I do so at work as well. My most recent t-shirt is one for the capsule wardrobe. The idea is not fleshed out yet, but I hope to combine this with several outfits. It will be quite cute on its own as well:

The problem with it is that it's not quite as stretchy as most t-shirt fabrics. As a result, it is slightly tight on the bust and that pulls on the front opening. Nothing that dropping a few more kilo's won't fix, but I really don't want to wait for that. For now I've sewed the opening shut, but that's a dirty, dirty hack.
At home I'm looking at my gargantuan stash and wondering what to cast on next. Muse is stirring from her winter sleep and my eye is drawn to larger projects. Vests and cardigans and big bulky sweaters and all the socks I come across. Of course, the novelty of Sock Madness has worn off (and right before the new round kicks off, too!) and nothing will please her more than to cast on new socks. I can't even decide which socks to knit first, as all the yarn I have is so pretty and inspiring. I have stress from all the options I can choose from!
But I am adamant to finish stuff that is on the needles first. I would love to finally finish the Morgenfryd as it's becoming a thorn in my eye (a year and a half since I promised Sigunne I'd knit something pretty with that yarn!!), I'm looking forward to a pretty pair of socks for Kat, and the Bodemloos sweater is just a little push (a sleeve and a half) and then it's done.
