The unspeakable has happened. This was probably my least favourite sock in the Madness, although closely tied with the Twisted Madness socks. The design was just too sweet... Lambs AND bunnies AND chickens too!! Ugh.
Colourwork is nice if you can get it right, but with my limited experience, my gauge getting funkier by the sock, and a pretty big ankle/calf, I never thought this would happen. But wouldn't you know it...I accidentally knitted a pair of socks to fit me!

Everything is better with a sceptical-looking cat in the background!
The pattern wanted me to knit at least 6 inches of leg, but once the colourwork chart was done I had a whopping 7,5 inches! This is what I mean with a funky gauge -- my stitches seem to grow taller but thinner. The foot needed at least 50 rows after the heel turn, and I threw in two or three rows extra just to be on the safe side. When I pushed the socks on the sock blocker I was surprised to need a size 40/41 sock blocker and I noticed they weren't snug on the blocker. So why not try them on?
I guess they will be mine now, which means I have to weave in ends and all that. *dramatic sigh* Work, work!
Six days on the needle, very glad they are done. Might even block these. They are kind of snug around the sheep part, but I can wear them quite well! Tonight I have a ton of housework to do, becuase everything's been waiting until this round of the Madness is over, but I've got a week to recover and prepare for the next round.
