Type "Dolle Griet" into any search engine and the first page you'll get served is all about a restaurant in Harderwijk with the same name as my company. This is kind of a Bad Thing, apparantly.
What's even worse is that if you look for "kleding op maat Eindhoven" the closest match you'll find is Juul op Maat in Tilburg, who's a really nice gal and a friend my ex-coworker Geeke. But you won't find me.
I'm the first hit for "Dolle Griet kleding", so there's that.

So this SEO thing is apparantly a Thing now, and Meta Tags and Keyword Descriptions are old hat. I've just added my site to the Google Search index and got myself access to the -- one moment while I check the name of the darn thing -- Search Console. I only just realised how out-of-touch I am with this part of the internet. I can manage a Wordpress site but not do the tricks and things you need to do to get found.

One thing that will help increase my ratings in Google is other sites, especially Blogs, linking to me. On the other hand, I wonder if I can ever compete with a restaurant that is linked to by several reputable sites that have been in the air for quite a while. And I also wonder how much I want to be known for my company name. I guess it's more important to be found by the people who have a particular desire for made-to-measure clothing.

I've no idea whether I'm on the right track, so I've sent an e-mail to the one person who IS a specialist in this field...
Please help me, Alice-in-Wonderland. You are my only hope!
