Knit & Knot

Yesterday I visited the Knit & Knot faire in Tilburg. It's a relatively new event, but I've been to both times it was held. Tilburg is just around the corner for me, but this year I screwed up my appointments a litte.
Ever since last year, Anemoona and I visit the faire in Zwolle, but this year it coincided with the Wildling weekend. So I had suggested, and promptly forgotten, to go to Knit & Knot together on the Thursday.

Last week I asked my other craftsy friends HowlingMoon and WannabeKat if we still wanted to go to K&K, like last year. Most of us are in different financial straits at the moment, so I suggested in stead of going to a faire where we'd only be tempted to spend money, to have a craftsy day on the couch. We settled on Thursday.

On Monday I was suddenly reminded of my previous engagement with Anemoona to go to Knit & Knot!
Luckily, the situation was fixed quite easily. I bought tickets for Howling Moon and Kat, and we all went together. (Howling Moon and Anemoona meeting each other was priceless. They were both very politely shaking hands right up 'till the moment I said "You're both Larpers, you know." Instant thawing and laughter!)

It was such an awesome day, we had so much fun together. I loved meeting standholders and Ravelers, I'm starting to build up a list of stores I want to buy yarn at. Because of my very limited budget, I hardly bought anything.
Best of all was the gift for Anemoona, who had found a beautiful skein of salmon pink (?) for a scarf for herself. Last year I bought her a skein for a sweater as a birthday gift (which helped her decide to do it, and it became a gorgeous sweater indeed!). I hope this will become a tradition!



Above you can see my haul! I bought a lovely skein of grey that will go with my two skeins of purple Malabrigo into a striped sweater. (Some. Day.) I also bought two little pillboxes that make a noise when you rattle them, so I can knit cat toys for Kwibus and Doortje. And the blue Lang Jawoll is a 50 gram skein of sock yarn that comes with a matching reinforcing thread for toe and heel. I was very tempted but Anemoona gifted it to me and I couldn't say no. It's not as bright as in the picture, it's more of a muted blue which is something I always reach for when I open my wardrobe.

We had so much fun together that I hope we'll end up visiting more faires together. I'll start saving up!
