Knitting List: end of 2016 plans
Sep. 2nd, 2016 08:32 amThe list was ambitious. I can probably never finish it. But it feels like it's time for another update, so here it is!
Planned & Finished (or ended) projects
Planned & Finished (or ended) projects
- The Harvest Cardigan was finished in May. It fits me quite well, but sadly the wool is very itchy, so I doubt I'll wear it often. I'll see how bad it is when the weather turns colder, and I can always donate it to goodwill if it doesn't work out.
- Hitchhiker was finished in May. This was a fun, relaxed knit made all the more beautiful by the gorgeous yarn. It's 35 euro per 150 grams, but it's so scrumptious!
- Socks for his Nibs were finished in June. These are quite simple men's socks in a sock yarn I have a ton of skeins of. Kwibus abducted the socks as soon as Eisirt first took them off, resulting in a hilarious video.
- Serpentine Toe-Up Socks - Finished in July. The second sock from the Craftsy Class, and almost as much fun to knit. Easy pattern to memorise, a different kind of heel for once. Still love this Opal yarn!
- French CanCan - Finished in July. This will be a gift, knit in lovely bulky merino in a bright colour. The first part of the pattern was almost too easy. The second part was pretty intricate. I loved how fast it went and the results are striking. Not everything has to be done in sock-weight yarn.
- The Muness for Sigunne. Still sleeping, but the next project I will pick up.
- Broken Chocolate Bar Socks. Frogged! The yarn is now being used for the Colonial Rib Socks (for Eisirt). Lunch break socks.
- The Graduation Rockefeller was cast on in June, right before graduating. It is progressing quite well, I'm at the final clue and it's becoming a beautiful shawl! Hope to finish this soon.
- Helix Socks will be a gift to my father in law's 70th birthday. These were cast on in haste, frogged and then cast on anew last night. I'll never finish them in time, but come Christmas he will surely have a new pair of socks. Simple helixed stripes, contrast toe, heel, cuff.
- Bobble Sheep - will be the next thing I cast on. I have bought Zeeman acryl for this. OMG.
- The Hilja in sock-weight yarn -- has already been cast on, but I'm not knitting on it yet. Stuff to finish!
- I promised
wannabe_bitch to knit her a pair of Eowyn socks. - Bagtanke, a cardigan pattern in three shades of purple.
- The Batik pattern to go with my new Winter coat.
- The Daybreak pattern in scrumptious Manos del Uruguay.
- Pamina, a summery top in lace-weight yarn.
- Eriginea, a crochet pattern.
- Skew, a pair of weird socks, in self-striping.
