It feels like a lot has progressed or changed and when I look back on my previous knitting list, it has. So here's my First Quarter update!

I spent the afternoon with Wannabe-Kat knitting away with tea and nomsies, so I'm all knitted out for the day. But I can still write about knitting.

As usual, new or edited items are in blue. There is a lot of blue, a lot of things have changed, finished or been deleted.

Planned & Finished (or ended) projects

  • Copilot Cowl.Still on the list for frogging and re-knitting.

  • The Aragorn KAL socks, which have been finished after a full-speed ahead rush of me being stubborn. I did not want to give up on these, and taught me to not pick up a sock project with twisted stitches any time soon.

  • Toe-up Socks, lovingly called "Tupjes" in Dutch. This was the first pair I knitted for Eisirt, and are lovingly modeled with the help of slightly-astonishing-looking assistant.

  • Cabled headband and a Scarflette, another commission from Steelweaver, recently finished and sent to her house. Pretty Cables!

  • Make-up remover squares, an environmentally-friendly project in crochet was changed to a knitting project. Although these work well, the seed stitch is a little unfriendly to my hyper-sensitive skin and I can recommend doing these in a simple stockinette stitch, bordered by something that will prevent curling of the finished thing.

  • Koffieboontje socks in Scheepjes invicta coloris. Finished, but I can't share pictures yet until these are delivered to their destination.

  • And I want to knit at least 1 pattern from my knitting books. Turned out to be the koffieboontje socks.

  • Smocked Guernsey Socks -- These were part of the online sock knitting class by Lucy Neatby and turned out really great. Because of the colour and fit (and perhaps even details on the sock itself) I keep grabbing these from the sock basket every time.

  • I also knitted the Skyp Rib socks, but no pictures yet.

Sleepers and WIPS

  • Harvest Cardigan in a petrol-coloured wool. Still working on this... but I need to make some adjustments for a better fit. I'll get around to writing more about it soon, because I do want to finish this soon.

  • The Muness for Sigunne. I've actually worked on the non-boring bits and getting the hang of lace knitting. Even though this is one of the simpler lace patterns, it's still hard to fix if you forget a yarn-over somewhere.

  • I've entered into a contest for April socks in knit-and-purl bumps, but it's turning out not very visible in the variegated yarn I chose. Still, they'll be pretty socks for Eisirt: Broken Chocolate Bar Socks.

  • I want to do another sock from the Online sock knitting class, but although I've made a ball of yarn I'm not casting on yet. I do hope the "Serpentine Toe Up Socks" will be just as much fun as the Smocked Guernsey ones. (Sleeper)

  • I've also cast on another Lunch Break Sock: a simple pair for Eisirt in the Scheepjes Invicta Coloris I'm drowning in, combined with a green merino for toe, heel and cuff. Socks for his Nibs; even the name is awesome! (Sleeper)

  • And with all these socks on the needles, I really needed a pick-me-upper this weekend. I wound my skein of Socks that Rock into a ball, and loved every moment of it. I cast it on as a Strandwanderer, but the pattern repeat is too short, so it just made a mess. So I frogged it and cast on Hitchhiker instead. It's so pretty and scrumptious, and I love how this yarn knits. This is something to save up for and knit something really, really awesome with.

Future Projects

  • I'd like to pick up Nalebinding again. Still. This has been on my list since forever so I'm removing it until I figure out what I want to make.

  • I want to try my hand at a nice crochet project. I bought a skein of Unikat, so this is in my foreseeable future!

  • The Daybreak pattern, as soon as I finish Muness so I've got needles free.

  • The Batik pattern to go with my new Winter coat.

  • I promised [livejournal.com profile] wannabe_bitch to knit her a pair of Eowyn socks.

  • Bagtanke, a cardigan pattern in three shades of purple.

  • A striped Hilja in double-knit sock yarn.

  • Pamina, a summery top in lace-weight yarn.
