After a full day of re-pressing my interfacing, overlocking all the edges and some minor assembly, I now have two zipper pockets. Considering I've never done these before, I'm really very proud of how they turned out!
Considering I've spent at least five hours on this project today, I'm a little bummed I didn't manage to do more.

Zipper pocket

You can see the zipper disappear under a fold of fabric. That's not because I'm unhappy with how the pocket turned out, but actually because this pocket will be hidden under a horizontal pleat over the chest of the jacket.
What I am less than pleased about is that I drafted this pleat to be 2 cm high. Our teacher is always going on about how zippers take up 2x 0,75 cm, so 1½ cm in total. And then there's that stitching line... and the entire thing is suddenly just a little over 2 cm high.

So I'm going to fudge the pleat, making sure everything including the stitching line will be hidden under the pleat, and just the little toilet seat-shaped runner poking its nose out. Since this is wool, I can make it work. I'm just not sure I'll get away with it without my teacher noticing....

Als ik de zakken af heb in een kledingstuk vraag ik mij ook altijd af waarom dat zo veel tijd moet kosten.
Als je eenmaal deze hobbel genomen hebt, gaat de rest lekker snel.
