Yarn Party!

janestarzYesterday one of my Ravelry friends Snorrepot invited a bunch of people from Ravelry to come to her house for a yarn party. She lives in the heart of Den Bosch, in one of those houses all the tourists like but you never thought you'd see the inside of. It was a gorgeous house!
We sat in the "opkamer" (half a story up from the entrance level floor), which had a window overlooking the "voorkamer" (the room at the front of the house). All the Ravelry Girls were gathered around in a big circle, each already focused on their knitting and chatting away. They had come from all over the country, some live more than 2 hours away!
Snorrepot provided me with coffee and I unpacked my Harvest Cardigan to knit on. I met a lot of people I only knew from their Ravelry nicknames or their Ravatar. There was lunch with fresh bread and pumpkin soup. At the end of the afternoon, Snorrepot finally had a moment to sit down next to me and we got a chance to talk a bit. She told me about her house and her husband and we got to know eachother a little better.
I also met her cats Lillepoes, a very vocal Siamese, and Poekie, a troubled tortie who had no truck with all the visitors but did come to sniff the inside of some of the purses.
I walked with Pukkieplanta to the station, where I found out that the bus to the transferium only left from the city centre, so I walked back. Den Bosch is really weird, parking in the centre costs you 20 euro for a day ticket (5 euro per hour) but right outside the centre they have a parking lot and bus connection which only costs you 4 euro for the entire day!
When I came home I completely collapsed on the couch from all the excitement. Even if I didn't talk much or do much and my net knitting length was -4 centimeters (I frogged), I was still exhausted from the event. But it was great and I had so much fun meeting new friends!
