Fitted winter coat

janestarzMaybe it'll be fun to show different steps of the progress, even if it won't be a proper dress diary. I love to make little teasers of the fabric and buttons just to show you the start of this wonderful project. I know I'll have my doubts along the way... but for now I'm giddy with the idea of really starting.
And so it begins....
There's still some steps to undertake before I can start cutting my fabric. Tracing all the pattern pieces will be quite a lot of work in itself: I've made seams in every piece so I will have enough fabric. Just the front of the coat -- not counting pocket flaps or collars -- will consist of 12 pieces. Eight of those twelve will have to be interfaced by hand. Work, work, work.
I'm off to finish the final bits of pattern drafting so I can hopefully start cutting tomorrow.
It's horribly cold around the house, but I must get things done. Not even my Ohio University Sweater is warm enough. Staying busy will help, but Doortje wants to escape and hide in the bedroom, just like I'd love to curl up in bed and sleep.
ETA: 29 pieces for the outside + facings, 13 of lining fabric, a whopping total of 42 pattern pieces!!
