As mentioned in my previous post, I have frogged back to the start of the gusset. This time, I was careful to increase the same way each time, and I even tried keeping track of when to increase (I could nearly remember it too.) Since I alternate between increasing 2 sts every second or every third row, it's kind of difficult to keep track of. But it's done, and it looks pretty.

Aragorn 6
Front of leg, with gusset.

The picture finally shows you the finished front of the leg section, with five repeats of the pattern. As you can see, the center front cables stay apart and slide down the sides of the gusset, twisting around themselves.
I love how the pattern in this sock emphasizes the shape of the foot (I've peeked at other people's Aragorns while on feet and they're just so pretty!)

Next steps.
I've already started on turning the heel. It's a short-row-combination heel. I've done short row heels before, but this one knits the additional stitches from the gusset together with the bottom of the foot, right over where the cables now stop. All that will be left are the stitches of the heel (30) and the ones I have just increased as the center-front gusset (31 or, officially: 30). At the moment this picture was taken, I had 91 stitches on the needles, so there's a few to get rid of now.

And then it's full speed ahead, twisted ribbing and stockinette, until the toe. I know I've said this before, but that will be the really speedy part.
