Project List (june 2015)
Jun. 12th, 2015 04:02 pmSince I've just finished my summer coat for school, it's high time I update my project list! Updated items are blue.
Quilting
Knitting & assorted yarn crafts
Leatherwork
Sewing!!!
Reviewing the Project List has not cleared my mind much, and there's not a whole lot on the list to finish this summer. I want to get rid of some old UFO's, wrap up some large projects and then get started on sewing the fabrics in the "I have an idea with this" bin. Thanks to the last six months at school I have some wonderful basic blocks for various garments.
I also miss larping, the rush of creating a wonderful garment for a role which I will play with friends. Maybe that will come back, but right now I can't for the life of me get excited about an event.
So Summer looks to be pretty empty, although it will fill up with exciting things, no doubt. This Saturday we will be visiting Eisirt's brother and then my brother. Then on the weekend of the 27th we will catch the night train from Calais to the UK to visit Tankfest! On July 5th, my grandmother will be celebrating her 91st birthday wil the entire family. And there's plenty of room for other fun things to do. We will be visiting Luthine, and I'm pending dates for visiting Anemoona and Dolphirl, for MrTimmey and Yava'in.
I just have to survive my exams (16th and 22nd of June), and then it's Summer!
Quilting
- Brown Hexagon quilt. This will take several years.
- My blue quilt. Would like to finish this before the end of the year. Put on Summer Sewing Shortlist
- Tumbling blocks quilt. Not starting on this until other quilt projects are done.
- My New House quilt. Got a jelly roll. My mother in law gave me a book with Japanese quilt blocks that will work well with the jelly roll, but I don't know my actual plans yet. Not starting on this until other quilt projects are done.
- And then there's this thing. Might work on this in Summer.
Knitting & assorted yarn crafts
Mom's scarf.Done! Evidence here, mom was exstatic.Copilot Cowl.Wasn't officially on the List but I got this wonderful yarn for my birthday and Sigunne inspired me so in less than two weeks I turned a ball of 100 gr sock yarn into a lovely cowl.Spencer, scratched off the queue. Wrong yarn, no money for the right yarn. One day....- I'd like to pick up Nalebinding again. It's so cool to do and people can't wrap their heads around it. Also, have yarn, can travel.
- Knit more socks! In Turkey I knit the Sock Feat! pattern, with some alterations, making myself a wonderful pair of warm winter socks. It tastes like more!
- Koffieboontje socks in Scheepjes invicta coloris
- I want to try my hand at toe-up socks.
- And I've queued Show-off stranded socks which are reputedly wonderful for variegated yarns.
- Zeeuwse Lappendeken was cast on in January, and I'm down to 19/25 blocks done. I want to finish this before September. Currently I'm doing 4 days to a block. Unsure if I want to line it.
- Half-fingered gloves in a purple/lilac sock yarn that matches my winter coat.
- Harvest Cardigan in a petrol-coloured wool. I'm having trouble getting back to this since it's a big project, and I only like working on big projects one at a time.
- Joris de draak is also patiently waiting.
Leatherwork
Beriadanwen needs something like this. Oh yes.Possibly some other leather accessoiries to go with above piece. No more Beriadanwen. And possibly a kidney belt for Maerquin in November. Also, no more Bella at Maerquin.
Sewing!!!
Possibly that velvet robe for Beriadanwen too.No more Beriadanwen. The Maerquin costumes for 6 people.Done, the group decided after one event that Maerquin is not for us. *sigh* NEXT!- I still want to make myself a bra, and I've got all the pieces, the know-how and the fabric. Now for some time...
- My current school project: White panther jacket. Added to Summer Sewing Shortlist.
- A blouse in dark blue with purple flowers. Might be nice to finish before summer. Any Summer.
Guus' Tarot pouch.I don't think I'll ever make this.Patchwork poncho, using squares of linen I saved from previous projects.Progress made, but unsure if results are worth it, so I'm scratching it off the list.- Several knit fabric shirts and possibly a dress. Some day. I should probably figure out what exactly I want to make of this. I want to make this from the striped grey tricot.
- A blouse in old pink cotton. I have a basic blouse pattern I can use, just needs final thoughts on the design.
Canvas canopy to cook under at Maerquin.Done! It worked really well. You can never have enough tarps in larp.- New jeans. My old comfy jeans are falling apart at the inside leg seam. Just need to draft myself a pattern.
- New yoga/sweat pants to wear around the house. The fabric is getting very thin, but I can use the old ones for a pattern to make new ones. Just need fabric and time.
