After yesterday's rain the weather has cleared up. Kristas, one of the Italian guests on board, asked if we could sail from the quiet bay to somewhere else. We were none of us in the mood for swimming, with the sun hiding behind the clouds, and the bay itself offered no more excitement than a few lonely fish lurking beneath the surface.
So we sailed to English harbour one day early. The Italians disembarked immediately, disappearing even before we could don our socks. We also disembarked, walking an oleander-edged rocky road and climbing the hill. Bulldozers had made this road and it was rough going on all the loose rocks, but my parents-in-law were frisky with cabin fever and it was nice to stretch our legs for a bit.

While the Dutch guests all went to the nearby bar/taverna/harbourmaster's office for some raki, Eisirt and I lounged on the boat and managed to spot birds fishing in the harbour. I snapped some pictures and can't tell for sure if they are indeed kingfishers, but it was awesome to see.

This morning we left one of the crew behind for a shipping trip and sailed to Sedir Island. For 15 Turkish Lira (5 euro) we could enter the island and have our own adventures in the local ruins, including a Byzantine church, temple of Apollo and amphitheatre (seats 2000!).
In the midst of all this clambering over ruins, we spotted some local flora and fauna as well. After a chicken with chicks followed tiny flickering lizards, a turtle and even a caramel-brown snake!
There were sea-urchins and we ate ice cream.

At 11:30 we were back on board and now we are on the sea again. Since we mostly have the wind against us, we use the ship motor to travel, which makes finding the right verb to describe our voyage a tad difficult.
There is more wind today, so for the first time this trip we are bouncing over the waves. The rest of the time we've been calm in the water and you could hardly tell we're on a ship.

So far I've only knitted ¾ of a sock. It's not going fast. And there might be swimming later.
We will spend the night in English harbour again, and tomorrow? I really don't know.
