Birthday bash

janestarzNot every year I am enthusiastic enough about birthdays in general (and mine in particular) to want to celebrate, but this year I felt the need to have a good time with my friends. Where I thought to invite all the Anarquendor and my closest non-Anarquendor friends earlier in the year, my plans changed quite rigorously when I left the AQ.
Still, the main goal was to have good fun with my friends, and although the guest list was adjusted, we still had good fun.
My house is just too tiny for many guests and although opening it up to everyone for the entire day often makes me wish for smaller visiting hours, this year was just great. We kicked off with our neighbours, almost seamlessly followed by MrTimmey, Gûrron and girlfriend. They spoiled me rotten, and no mistake. We also went for a little walk in the neighbourhood combined with some harmless portal-hacking in Ingress since one of the missions is close by and takes 15 minutes.
Just when they had left my school friend Sigunne dropped by. After the initial munchies (and killing off my homemade boterkoek exactly) we made courgette (zucchini) soup and talked the sewing nerd language.
But the best present I haven't told you about yet: I woke up to breakfast in bed by my dear Eisirt, who showered me in croissants and gifts and cuddles and a fluffy cat telling him this wasn't in her plans for the morning so if he would be so kind as to put her down now so she could run away, run away.
It was a great day, and although I was really tired at the end it was really lovely to see my friends. Although my actual birthday is tomorrow, it feels like I have nothing left to celebrate until the 20th, when my two friends who were at Charm for the weekend will drop by for dinner!
