It's all the muse's fault
Dec. 4th, 2014 01:29 pmMuse*) was bothering me for a while. I don't have any fluffy vests to wear that actually match my colour scheme. I would have liked a blue vest, because blue matches everything. It doesn't match teal, but I can wear it with purple, pink, gray and other blues. So my muse piped up with "You can knit! Knit one! It'll be awesome!" **)
And so I found myself today, shopping for yarn at Smitje, while colleague Kim and I had coffee on our free day off.
I need to feel wool before I buy it, because my skin doesn't like all wools. But today I ran into some dark turqouise/petrol coloured 100% virgin wool superwash. It was only € 3,05 per skein and they had a sale: buy 10, get one free. It's nice and thick (I'm not completely at home yet in the fingering weight/DK/super bulky way of measuring wool) and Ravelry states it's in the "worsted" catagory. I've put it in my stash, but the picture is a little more blue than the yarn is (it's really a greenish-petrol-blue colour).
And because I'm a sucker for sock wool and the Eternal Sufferer from Second Sock Syndrome, I also picked up some Schachenmayr Regia Mix-It! which will possibly become a pair of gloves in the same colourway as my soon-to-be vest.
Here's to hoping that'll motivate me to finish one or two projects I already have cast on.

*) Muse, my muse, is named Thalia, the muse of comedy. Because she's hilarious.
**) See? Hi-la-ri-ous.
