Stress anyway
Jul. 15th, 2014 07:18 pmDrachenfest is coming up in a little under two weeks and there is stress ahoy!
Eisirt's costume pile isn't even anywhere near to a pile. One pair of pants, one tunic, one coat and two sleeveless things he can throw on if the weather isn't anything like we've been having lately. Nothing to layer on one another and nothing he can wear should there be rain. Even if his armour would fit into the box I gave him, the box wouldn't be full.
I also still need to arrange for someone to braid my dreads and sort through my own pile of costume, which is so ridiculously huge I could dress three different characters with it.
So I dug up some old white linen and tossed it into the washing machine with a choice selection of Dylon fabric dye and oodles of salt. The first stretch has gone somewhere between mustard and brown, despite my mix of "tropical green" and "terracotta" dye.
I also cut him a jersey tunic longsleeve, which will do for pyjama's or "I'm drenched" wear quite nicely.
Here's to hoping I'll get through sewing for him this week so I can take a bit of a closer look at my dress uniform and fix that issue I had with my padded skirt.
